Ms. Robin Miles leads the LIFE target engineering conceptual design effort. She is also a group leader in the Microtechnology Center and acting deputy division leader of the Engineering Technologies Division at Lawrence Livermore National Laboratory (LLNL). Ms. Miles holds a B.S. in Mechanical Engineering from the Massachusetts Institute of Technology, an M.S. in Mechanical Engineering from Stanford University, and an M.B.A. from the University of California, Berkeley. She has 25 years of experience in device design/fabrication. Her specialties are precision product design and microfabrication. Her experience includes design and implementation of equipment for automated fabrication at Varian, Microtech, Redwood Microsystems, K2 Optronics, and the LLNL Microfabrication Facility. While at LLNL, Ms. Miles has designed targets for NIF, OMEGA, Janus, and Lawrence Berkeley's Advanced Light Source.
